At the start of a new semester, around August 2018, I had arrived to a different college named Interamerican University, specifically in the Metropolitan area (around Guaynabo, P.R.). Around there, I had started taking some education courses, including the Field Experiences in Education 1 class which brought me to my first piece of destiny. More or less around August 28th, 2018, I had seen this young, good-looking guy looking at me in the hallway and I smiled at him. Then after a while, one day, I walked again on the same area where I saw him and that’s when he mustered his courage and ask me the one question that started it all: “How’s the project going?”. I found it weird when he asked at first, but then I replied with “It’s going well, thank you.” But, what was so interesting about it was that, after that one question, we just introduced ourselves and then kept talking that same day. We talked a lot around that hour, including about our doggos. And since then, we would talk every day we would see each other around our Field Experience class. And then we became good friends until a few months later when, around November of that same year, we confessed our feelings for each other. And then, our feelings grew so much more to the point where, on December 18th, we shared our first kiss and then we officially became a couple.
Since we became a couple on December 18th, 2018, we would be together a lot, go on dates and even watch movies together. Speaking of movies, specifically, on December 18th, 2020, we were watching one or two movies together at my house. The last movie I remember watching that day was The Polar Express and we were even talking about how good the movie was. Then after that, he told me to close my eyes. I was wondering why, yet I went with the flow of it. As I closed my eyes, I hear him taking something out, but I wasn’t sure what it was. But, then, once my eyes opened, it happened. An emerald ring was being bestowed upon me inside a grey box. My boyfriend held that box with the same pose I’ve always wanted to see (traditional pose for proposal, of course), and I was just shocked and excited at the same time. I was happy, but then I told him, “We should’ve gotten this on video!” Then we agreed that the best moments are always shared without a camera and then he placed the ring onto my finger. And then, after he proposed, we immediately walked to my family and we all shared a big hug. Since the proposal, we grew closer together, despite all the struggles we had with money and the pandemic. We’re so glad we finally got a date for the wedding and we are looking forward to seeing you all at our wedding so we can share our big moment that was put all together thanks to our story.
