This is the place to go for all of Richmond's breweries. We recommend The Veil, Three Notch'd and Hardywood. If weather is nice and you don't mind sitting outside, we love Brambly Park for a glass of wine.
Visit Cary Street for unique Richmond shopping. Park a street over and admire the row houses and then walk along Cary Street. Grab a coffee and make sure to visit our favorite store, Mongrel, where we can always find a gift you didn't know you needed (aka where Layton buys all of his Christmas gifts).
If you're looking for an early morning walk, head to Brown's Island. The site of our beloved summer concert series, Friday Cheers, it's a great spot along the James. Walk across the bridge to Belle Isle for a little bit of Civil War History.
The best brunch spot (in our humble opinion). Right across from our first home in Richmond, it's a great spot to eat and grab a mimosa in a pitcher or Irish coffee (we know from experience). The breakfast club and Squirrel's Nest Breakfast Bowls are highly recommended. By us.
