How We Met

From middle school, to a lifetime together

Our story began at St Ursula School in Parkville, MD in 2005. Tony and I were classmates and became very close friends. We spent countless hours on AIM and late night phone calls. The friendship we formed was something special and was unique to my other friendships at that time in my life. He was always there to make me laugh or make me smile when I was feeling down, was always my go to when something great happened, and always made me feel like I was important. We stayed friends throughout most of high school, but lost touch as our lives started to go down different paths. By the time we went to college, we hadn't spoken in a few years. But in February 2016, that all changed. I received an unexpected text message from Tony in my third year of college, just to check in and to see how I was doing. Unknown to him, I was at a low point in my life and needed a little cheering which he was still just as good at almost 5 years later. From then on, we kept talking and once school was finished for the semester, we spent the entire summer together. By July 4, 2016, I knew I was in love with Tony Kelly and our serendipitous love story began.

The Proposal

February 22, 2019

Tony had "planned" a date night at Olive Garden, but instead of seeing him at the restaurant my mom was there. She told me how special I was to her and let me know that I would be making multiple stops tonight. My first stop was to Honeygo Park, where my brother and his girlfriend were; next to the Double T Diner in Perry Hall, where I met with Tony's mom; to St Ursula Church's parking lot, to meet with a former classmate and friend of both of us; and then to Panera in Towson where my dad and sister were waiting for me. Each stop had a special meaning to the two of us, and each had important people in my life to remind me of how loved and important I was to each of them. My final stop was to the Calvert Hall College High School's football field. As I came through the tunnel, Tony was waiting for me in the middle of the field- waiting for me and smiling bigger and bigger as I got closer. We had been together on this same field 6 years before, when I had come to watch one of his football games after school. He had missed the chance to tell me something, so when he got down on one knee and said, "I missed the chance to tell you I liked you when we were 14 on this field, but I'd like to spend forever showing you just how much I love you...will you marry me?" it was an enthusiastic and excited "YES!" We are so excited to celebrate this next chapter with you.
