Answer

Yes! Children are welcome to attend. We want you to have a blast! If that means bringing your kids, we'd love to see them! If that means leaving your youngsters at home, that's cool with us too. Your children are welcome to attend any and all wedding events.

Is the ceremony outside?

Answer

Weather permitting, the ceremony will take place on the lawn outside at our home under a beautiful shade tree. Cocktails will be served on the patio and the reception dinner and dancing will be under a tent. In case of rain, the ceremony, cocktails and reception will be under the tent.

What's the rain plan?

In case of rain or other inclement weather, we will move the ceremony under the reception tent.

How should I get to/from wedding events?

Answer

Uber/Lyft are not widely available in Southwest Michigan. There are several taxi companies you may want to try. If you are driving to wedding events, please pay special attention to the next FAQ on Parking and please drink/drive responsibly!

Where should I park when coming to the wedding on Saturday?

Answer

Please park in the public parking lot at the corner of N. Main & E. Mars Streets in Berrien Springs, Michigan or in surrounding street parking. We will be running two minivan shuttles throughout the evening between the parking lot and Shaker Farm where the wedding ceremony & reception will be held. There is NO parking at Shaker Farm.

What is Shaker Farm?

Answer

Shaker Farm is our beautiful home in Berrien Springs, Michigan, situated right on the banks of the St. Joseph River. The main home was built in 1832 by George Kimball. It was owned by a Shaker sect in the 1860s and was a seed farm - thus the name, Shaker Farm. Over the years it has also been a dairy farm. We purchased the property in 2020. We are very excited to host our wedding in this place that is so special to us.

I thought the welcome event was at Shamrock Station Brewery? Why has it moved to Weko Beach House?

Answer

Unfortunately Shamrock Station Brewery has gone out of business and closed permanently, so we needed to find an alternate venue. Weko Beach House is 8 miles directly west of Shamrock Station and is located right on Lake Michigan on the beach.

Where should I park for the welcome event at Weko Beach House?

Answer

Public parking is available at the Weko Beach House on a first come, first served basis for $15. Unfortunately we cannot guarantee parking in this lot. We have reserved free parking in a lot at 9765 Maple Street in Bridgman, Michigan (less than 1.5 miles away). We will be running two minivan shuttles between this free parking lot and Weko Beach House throughout the evening.

What do I need to know for Sunday BBQ & Swim?

Answer

Bring your suits and your beach towels and enjoy a dip in the pool and some yard games. Burgers, brats and sides will be served along with soda and adult beverages.

What should I wear?

Answer

Great question! Friday night at Weko Beach House is casual. For the wedding on Saturday, no suits required! Khakis/collared shirts for guys, summer dresses for ladies. Sunday is casual - bring your swimsuits and beach towels!
