Seabrook is about as picturesque as the Washington Coast gets- from quaint houses, gorgeous views, and delicious treats. There are plenty of dining options and activities to fill your weekend. Some of our Seabrook highlights are included below.
Ok, so Sophie has never really met a baked good she didn’t like, but their treats are incredibly tasty! For our Seattle guests, the owners are Canlis alums, so you know it’s going to be good.
The wine bar has one of the best views in town! No matter the weather you can enjoy an ocean view with your glass of wine- an ideal match.
Koko’s restaurant is a cute Mexican spot in the town center. This is the first place we visited in Seabrook and we recommend the guacamole. The patio is even approved by Honey!
On your drive into Seabrook take note of Aberdeen, WA. You might ask yourself why as you navigate through a strip of fast food chains. But Aberdeen can be credited with the birth of the grunge scene- the town that raised the band Nirvana. Nirvana was formed in Aberdeen and it was the hometown to both Kurt Cobain and the band's bassist Krist Novoselic.
While Nirvana trivia might be more up Sophie’s alley, this one is here for Jack. Drive about an hour and a half up the coast and you’ll find Forks, WA- a small WA town that was put on the map by Bella Swan and Edward Cullen from the Twilight series. If you feel especially inspired to visit, you’re in luck! The 2024 Forever Twilight in Forks Festival coincides with our wedding weekend, running Sept. 12-15. So, are you Team Edward or Team Jacob? There is always a right answer. On a somewhat related note- Jack and Sophie stayed at a very sweet B&B in Forks on a road trip around the Olympic Peninsula a few years ago. We would definitely recommend the Misty Valley Inn to anyone who wants to extend their stay and check out all the Olympic Peninsula has to offer.
If you would like to extend your trip after the wedding we would encourage you to check out all that the Olympic Peninsula has to offer- maybe make a road trip out of it!
Lake Quinault is the Southern gateway to the Olympic National Park. Lake Quinault Lodge offers a historic, peaceful stay about 45 minutes north of Seabrook. From here you can access a number of hiking trails accessible to all different comfort levels.
A bucket list item for the Olympic National Park- the insane amount of rain (a lot more than Seattle) that the Hoh Rainforest receives every year gives way to mosses, ferns, and a lush forest. Head out for a day hike or a short stroll to take in a true beauty of Washington.
Just outside of Port Angeles, WA, at the top of the Olympic National Park, you can find Hurricane Ridge. Whether you want to take a hike, or enjoy the beauty from the top via a drive in- the views are worth it!
While this may call for a separate trip (it’s a couple hours south of Seabrook), we can’t help but plug Long Beach, WA. It’s where we got engaged and right next door to where Sophie’s dad, Milt, grew up. Long Beach has a special place in our hearts. Sophie grew up visiting frequently, clam digging with her grandparents, and always making time for trips to the Cottage Bakery for maple bars and Scooper’s for ice cream and taffy. Sophie and Jack come back regularly and it’s now one of Honey’s favorite places too- she loves to run in the sand! If you get the chance to visit, make sure to check out Oysterville, an idyllic town on the National Historic Register. If you have more time, or want to get off the beaten path, let us know! We are happy to share recommendations for the coast, peninsula, Seattle and beyond. We can’t wait to welcome you!
