WEDDING CEREMONY SHUTTLE: Downtown Durham to Duke Chapel

November 12, 2022 5:00 pm - 5:15 pm

We have reserved coach buses to transport guests from Downtown Durham to the wedding ceremony. Pickup will be at 201 Foster St, outside of the Durham Marriott City Center. The buses will begin loading at 5:00pm and will depart at 5:15pm, dropping off at Duke Chapel in time for the wedding ceremony.

DRIVING/PARKING INSTRUCTIONS FOR DUKE CHAPEL

If you are planning to drive and park a personal vehicle to Duke Chapel, please let us know. Duke Football gameday traffic and parking restrictions, only Uber/Lyft/taxis/buses and pre-approved personal vehicles displaying an official placard will be given access into the roads and parking areas surrounding Duke Chapel. If you plan to drive to the ceremony, please reach out to Kelly and David for an official access placard, and one of our limited 30 reserved parking spaces in the uncovered Bryan Center Lot at 134 Science Drive. Alternatively, please consider parking in one of the public garages in Downtown Durham, and use our private bus/shuttle service (see below) to get to/from our Saturday wedding events.

Shuttle from Ceremony to Reception: Duke Chapel to The Cotton Room

November 12, 2022 6:30 pm - 6:45 pm

Immediately following the ceremony, we will have coach buses waiting to transport guests from Duke Chapel to The Cotton Room for the reception. Due to football gameday traffic restrictions, bus pickup will be BEHIND Duke Chapel at the roundabout on Telecom Drive (GPS: Telecom Drive, Durham, NC) on the opposite side of the Westbrook Divinity Building. Telecom Drive is reached by an outdoor walkway and stairwell on the North side of the Chapel, through the archways to the right side of the Chapel (when facing the chapel), in between the Chapel and the Divinity School. of theof the chapel.

Duke Chapel Uber/Lyft/Taxi Traffic Restrictions

If you are planning to Uber/Lyft/Taxi to the wedding ceremony, football gameday traffic restrictions will not allow drop off at the normal front entrance of Duke Chapel on Chapel Drive. Instead, please enter the following address as your destination: 134 Science Drive, Durham, NC, which is the road immediately behind Duke Chapel. Following the ceremony, you should plan to use our private shuttle bus service to The Cotton Room, pickup location details below.

Post-Reception Shuttle back to Downtown Durham

Throughout the reception, a shuttle bus will be departing roughly every 20 minutes from The Cotton Room back to the Durham Marriott City Center near all of the downtown hotels.

Most downtown hotels offer paid self-parking or valet parking. An alternate, possibly cheaper option is to park in a nearby public garage for $24.75 per day, free overnight.

1 mile from Duke Chapel (wedding ceremony location) 3+ miles from Downtown Durham (location of all other wedding events) Note: this hotel is particularly popular with friends and family of Duke Football, and is very likely to have reduced vacancy and/or higher rates on our wedding date. Plan to book early if you hope to stay here.
