Traveling from out of town? Here are a few things we recommend for early Saturday or Sunday activities.

Kentucky Horse Park

4089 Iron Works Parkway, Lexington, KY 40511

$28 for adult admission. Opens at 9:00 AM. Free parking. Be sure to check out the International Museum of the Horse (indoor), the Mounted Police Barn, the Equine showcase at 11:00 AM, and the Draft Horse Presentation at 11:45 AM.

Ashland - The Henry Clay Estate

120 Sycamore Road, Lexington, KY 40502

Henry Clay, known as The Great Compromiser, was a US senator, Speaker of the House, presidential candidate, Secretary of State under John Quincy Adams, and political mentor to Abraham Lincoln. The Ashland estate has beautiful grounds and gardens in the heart of Lexington. Free to roam outdoor areas. Tours of the house are $25 at 10:00 | 11:30 | 2:30 | 3:45. A separate 'Slavery at Ashland' tour runs at 1:00 PM.

Keeneland Race Track

4201 Versailles Road, Lexington, KY 40510

In September, visitors can experience early morning thoroughbred workouts with the Morning Works Tour ($20) or roam the grounds at your leisure with the free self-guided tour. Stop by The Keeneland Shop for equine gifts, home goods, Keeneland merch, and luxury items.

Woodford Reserve Distillery

A National Historic Landmark and situated among some of Kentucky's most beautiful horse farms, Woodford Reserve Distillery offers daily tours and tastings starting at $25 for tastings and $35 for tours. Reservations are required.
