Question

When is the wedding ceremony?

Answer

Chris and I wanted to keep our actual ceremony very small. We initially considered eloping with no family, but decided that we would want our parents and siblings to be there (we know they wouldn't be very happy either). We know this is unconventional, but we hope you understand that we want to keep the marriage part intimate and just between us- but still want to celebrate our marriage with all of you!

Is there parking available at Cross and Orange?

Answer

There is no parking lot at the venue; however, street parking is available throughout Asbury Park (you do have to pay). If you live locally, I would suggest Uber or Lyft to get to the venue (then you can enjoy our open bar too!) If you are staying in Asbury Park, I would leave your car at the hotel (many of the local hotels offer valet or parking deals) and walk to the venue. I know it might be a bit chilly, but you'll be walking on the boardwalk, near the water- it'll be a great view!

What will the reception be like?

Answer

Chris and I loved Cross and Orange because it is not your typical venue. All of our food will be served "cocktail style" with waiters constantly carrying trays of various dishes from our hors d'oeuvres to our entrees to our desserts. There will still be PLENTY of food for a full dinner, there just won't be a typical sit down dinner. As this place is typically a bar/restaurant, the food is delicious. We’re having a live band, so there will lots of dancing as we eat and drink!

What do I wear?

It's a wedding- look nice! Cocktail attire seems appropriate.

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Kids are not allowed at the reception- great night for a babysitter!

Is Debbie changing her last name?

Answer

I’m not taking Chris’ name- I’ll be staying Debbie Kelly, or to my students, Ms. Kelly.
