The Welcome Party will start promptly at 5pm and conclude around 7pm on Sunday, September 7th. Please arrive at 4pm on Monday, September 8th at Parker Cottage. A friendly reminder to allow time to walk to the venues from the lobby of the hotel. More information on the Welcome Party and wedding locations are provided below.

Question

What is the dress code for the Welcome Party?

Answer

Whip out those Hawaiian shirts and florals! The vibe will be nothing short of tropical for our Welcome Party barbecue at the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel’s Number 3 Restaurant. The vibe will be casual so shorts are completely appropriate. We recommend wearing comfortable shoes as well as we will have access to a number of lawn games including bocce ball and corn hole.

Question

What is the dress code for the wedding?

Answer

Beachside/Resort elegant. Linens and bright colors encouraged. Sandals recommended and blazers not required. The ceremony and dinner will be on lawn so please keep that in mind when picking your shoes. Please also note that the location of our wedding at the resort is about a fifteen minute walk from the lobby so comfortable shoes are recommended.

Question

Are keiki (kiddos) welcome?

Answer

Thea and Kelly are grateful to be aunties to so many new cuties! Keiki are more than welcome at our Welcome Party on Sunday, September 7. Due to the location of our ceremony and reception, we are asking that our ceremony and reception be adults only. Babysitters can be booked through: Malihini Keiki Care 808.331.2909 mkcare@mkcare.com https://www.mkcare.com/ Don’t hesitate to contact Thea at theadora.trindle@gmail.com if you have any questions.

Question

What will the food be like?

Answer

If you know us, you know that we love to eat! Food will be buffet-style, plentiful, and include a delicious variety of Hawaiian fare for both the Welcome Party and the wedding so please bring an appetite. Please reach out to us directly if you have unique food limitations.

Question

Are cell phones allowed at the ceremony?

Answer

We will be having an “unplugged” ceremony so please keep those phones off and stashed away! Our photographer will capture all the mems so we ask that you be fully present with us during our ceremony. Devices welcome during dinner and dancing.

Question

I’m not staying at the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel. Where can I park?

Answer

If you are driving to the welcome party and wedding, you will be able to valet your vehicle at the lobby of the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel free of charge.

Question

How do I get around the island?

Answer

If staying at the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel, there is technically no need to have a car unless you want to explore the Big Island since all of our wedding festivities will take place at the resort. If staying somewhere other than the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel, we highly recommend booking a rental car as taxis and rideshares are limited.
