We met working at a rental place in Riverside, CA as youngsters. Who knew a struggling Jazzercise Instructor would accept the offer to go back to the rental place and work for the Christmas season. Upon my return, Steven was still working at the rental place. Which was much to my liking because I always thought he was cute. On my last day working at the rental company, Steven was waiting in the parking lot for me. We started talking and much to my surprise he asked for my number and the rest was history.
Steven and I got the opportunity this past Fall, to visit the windy city. On our first evening, we were exploring the cities Riverwalk. We found a little snack shop (with an IPA on tap), looking out over the Chicago River. I will spare you some other boring details that came next, but I told him how he was my travel partner and the OMG moment came next! He got down on one knee and asked if I would be his travel partner and marry him. Yes, I did accidentally leave out the part where I said "yes", and kept holding onto the railing trying to breathe. The city has really sturdy railings. He asked if that was a "yes", and I somewhat was able to speak that one very important word to him. Steven truly surprised me that day, and the city will always hold a special place in our hearts. 10/16/19
