Ricky and I were both athletes at the University of Michigan but we really met in class. The class was Cultures of Basketball- we were both able to ace that class. Our final project for the class was a 3 on 3 tournament where Ricky and I ended up on the same team. That was the end of the class but the start of us!

I planned a night out with friends at one of my favorite spots in Atlanta, Ponce City Market. Little did I know Ricky was making plans of his own too. He recruited my childhood best friend, Morgan Patterson, to help pull off the surprise. We all went down to Ponce City Market for drinks and apps before our dinner reservation. Once we arrived to the rooftop restaurant Morgan suggested we go take some pictures with the city skyline. We all headed outside and as Morgan was "getting the waitress to take the picture" Ricky got down on one knee and proposed! I was completely surprised and over joyed. The night followed with another surprise- Ricky had our family and friends downstairs at my favorite Mexican spot, Minero, waiting to celebrate with us! It was so special to be able to celebrate our engagement with those closest to us!
