Wedding Party

We have so much gratitude for the love and support in our lives, and that a few of our nearest ones will stand alongside us on May 15th.

Dena Hohman

Matron of Honor

"Most of you know I'm Nina’s favorite sister. I’ve had the pleasure of watching her transform from a very free spirited, charismatic & caring young child to the intelligent, selfless & inspirational young woman she is today. Naturally as her older sister, I’ve spent much of my life trying to protect her. When she set off for her med school journey abroad I knew the experience would give her strength, perseverance, & emotional grit. What I didn’t realize is that along the way she would meet a charming, kind, & intelligent young man, who would steal her heart and make her smile. I’m happy to say I no longer need to protect my baby sister - she’s met her life partner, a firefighter no less, the prototype of a protector, and I couldn't be happier to celebrate their beautiful love!" - Dena

Harper Knedler

Junior Maid of Honor

"I met Harper almost 4 years ago when she was just 7 years old. I've watched her grow from a sweet little girl into an incredibly self-aware, empathetic, and intelligent young lady. Her greatest fear is hurting someone's feelings and her greatest joy is spending time with friends and family. On her spare time, you can find her watching 'Harry Potter' or reading anatomy books. When she grows up she wants to become an ENT doctor. She makes me laugh until my stomach hurts and I can always count on her to be silly and have fun with. She is one of my best friends and I feel honoured and beyond grateful to have her as my bonus daughter. #GirlTime4life" - Nina

Sarah Taksha

Mother of the Bride

"My mother is the hardest working and most devoted mother in the entire world. Her love knows no boundaries and the sacrifices she's made for us are endless. She has always made us her priority, putting her own dreams aside to take care of us and support our family while Dad put himself through school. Even when we had very little, she fought to give my sister and I everything we needed (from piano lessons to figure skating classes, we had it all!). Everything I am and everything I have achieved is because of the tireless devotion, strength & support she has given me my entire life. She would willingly give anyone the shirt off her back and I know I can always rely on her for anything. I love you so much mom and am beyond grateful to have your love and support on my wedding day." - Nina

Reza Noghrehkar

Father of the Bride

"My dad is the first man to have stolen my heart. He is my best friend, my biggest supporter, & has more patience for me than I will ever deserve. Growing up he spent countless hours tutoring me in math & science and no matter how frustrated I got, he never lost his cool (well maybe just once, but I deserved it!). He always knows what to say to make me feel better. A few of my favorite lines he's hit me with are: "As long as you are alive, you have to fight to be happy" & "it is nature's law that if you work hard, you will see the results". He is without a doubt the reason I am where I am today. Thank you dad - I would have never gotten an 'A' in calculus or met the man of my dreams had it not been for you. I love you so much and I'm SO excited to have you walk me down the aisle!" - Nina

Saraya Yen

Bridesmaid

"Featured photo is Nina and I circa 1994. Almost 30 years later, here we are, still super awkward & still as deeply in love as we were the day we met (sorry Kelly - I’ll always be her 1st love). The basis of our bond is essentially us laughing at one another. Or more like me laughing at HER while getting her to perform in front of large groups (where she shines most!). I’m like the proud parent sitting in the audience watching her perform her elevator bit or her perfect Britney impression. We’ve been at each other’s side for almost all of life’s milestones, supporting one another, & laughing at sticky situations (or trying not to laugh - remember my baptism?). I couldn’t be happier to watch my bestie walk down the aisle & marry the man of her dreams. Love u both! #Nelly2022" - Saraya

Esztella Vezer

Bridesmaid

“Nina razzle-dazzled into my life in 2009, shortly after I moved to Canada from the UK. I met her through Saraya, but she soon became far more than a friend-of-a-friend. Today, she’s among the few people I feel closest to and will cherish for life. She's never ceased to wow me with everything from her humour, generosity, strength and determination, to her breathtaking talent for the arts (an untapped money-maker), refined taste in fashion and design, culinary skills and ability to feel deeply and self-reflect. I can now add her taste in men to the list. I feel honoured to have been able to get to know Kelly over many late-night Facetime calls as well as meeting in person, and I couldn't be happier to see Nina sharing her life with someone whose devotion and love is so evident.” - Esztella

Andreea Bratten

Bridesmaid

"I met Nina a little less than 10 years ago but it feels like I’ve known her my whole life. She’s wild and beautiful and such a force to be around. She is the realest person I know and I adore that about her. When she came to Toronto in 2018 for my wedding, she told us she had met someone. She kept saying how in love she was despite only knowing him for a short while. Meeting Kelly at the wedding made it obvious how he had captured her heart. He gets her, which isn't always easy ;) He loves her and I love them… the rest is history!! Let’s go to Tulum!" - Andreea

Shaina Singh

Bridesmaid

"Nina and I met in 2014 at the airport when we both landed in Newcastle, UK to embark on what would become the... humbling... journey that was medical school. We've had the fortune to share success, failure, travel, heartbreak, a home, our cultures, and a whole lot of joy and friendship. I met Kelly after their first date - they were both on cloud 9, unabashedly themselves, and have grown their partnership ever since." - Shaina

Tyler Knedler

Man of Honor

"Being only two years apart, most of my childhood memories unfortunately involve Tyler. From riding bikes until the sun went down to playing war games in our backyard, I couldn't have asked for a better buddy growing up. To this day he still keeps me entertained with his endless supply of memes and hilarity. I'm very happy to have Tyler and his better half Chelsea with me for the big day" - Kelly

Anders Knedler

Junior Man of Honor

"Anders is one in a million - he's the most affectionate & loving kid you'll ever meet. He loves bringing Nina tissues when she cries during movies because he can't stand to see her sad. He thinks his sister could be nicer sometimes. One of his favorite pastimes is building toy models with me. He loves spending time in the water and riding his bike. He's super smart and talented when it comes to visual arts and building legos (which he hopes to use towards becoming an architect one day). I love you and can't imagine having a more awesome best man (sorry Tyler)." - Kelly

Craig Knedler

Late Father of the Groom

"My dad was always the voice of reason in my life - he was a hard working, dedicated, and attentive husband and father. It's hard to accept that he will never have the chance to meet Nina but I know that he would have loved her and been very happy for the both of us. It's been just over 3 years since we lost him to cancer but not a day goes by that I'm not grateful for the sacrifices he made for me and my brothers throughout his life. I miss you Dad." - Kelly

Karolyn Knedler

Late Mother of the Groom

"My mom was a very loving person whose greatest joy was connecting with family and friends and watching her grandchildren grow. The generosity and love she showed those around her will forever be carried in our hearts. There are few words to express the deep pain of losing her so unexpectedly and although her life ended before we were ready, the time that Mom spent in our lives was memorable and full of joy. I feel lucky that she at least was able to meet Nina and grateful for the strong bond they built in such a short time. You will be incredibly missed on our big day." - Kelly

Brandon Knedler

Groomsman

"Brandon is my eldest brother - growing up I idolized him even though he beat me up on a regular basis. I always wanted to be just like him - until I realized I was much, much cooler. On a serious note, I have watched Brandon become a successful entrepreneur and an incredible father to his 3 amazing kids. And for the record, I still look up to you - thanks for being by my side on my big day." - Kelly

Donald Hohman

Groomsman

"Don is my future brother-in-law and although we only met recently, we bonded quickly over our love of cryptos and beer. He even took me on a man date for some Texan BBQ. Thanks for agreeing to stand with me on the big day. Looking forward to officially having you as a brother" - Kelly

Colin Riordan

Groomsman

"Colin is a fellow firefighter and a decent friend that doesn’t always text back. He’s the only one I invited from work because he’s the least likely to embarrass me. He’s on the fence about nihilism but I think he should go for it only because I'd like to see what happens. He loves hockey, is missing several teeth, and also has an awesome Canadian wife named Kristin. That’s about it." - Kelly

Aaquib Noorani

Groomsman

"I first met QB almost 4 years ago when Nina and I started dating. It was an instant hit between us. He is one of the coolest guys I know and if you’re looking for the life of the party then look no further. QB brings fun with him wherever he goes and if he couldn’t make it to our wedding then guess what…no wedding. Happy to have him stand with me and excited to see how he'll make himself the center of attention (Nina really wanted me to write this last bit)." - Kelly

Mason Liam Hohman

Ring Bearer

"Anyone who meets Mason instantly falls in love with him. This handsome 4-year-old is incredibly wise beyond his years, has the best sense of humor, and loves his family more than anything. Much like his mommy, he is super protective over his little sister. He also loves cars, monster trucks, playing with his train set, and of course, Batman. This brilliant little man can already understand 3 languages and is on his way to becoming a jujitsu champion. We love you Mason and are honored you'll be carrying a very important pillow down the aisle for us!" - Nina

Margot Cora Hohman

Flower Girl

"This spunky, gorgeous, loving ball of joy came into our lives just 2 years ago and we are all beyond in love with her. I am so looking forward to being her aunt for the rest of my life and to seeing the person she becomes. I have no doubt she'll make the world's greatest flower girl (or at the very the least the world's cutest!). Can't wait to see you in all your flower girl glory my little bean." - Nina

Chloe Knedler

Usher

"Chloe is our beloved golden-doodle and is the best puppy we as dog parents could have ever asked for. She loves eating remotes, Christmas ornaments, and other pricey objects. She's hypoallergenic, yet allergic to everything. She loves squirrels, birds, and eating large spiders around the house. She can’t make it to the wedding due to her status as a dog but she sends her love." - Mom & Dad
