We're Getting Married!

In April 2016, at a small bar called Phat Chads in Citrus Heights, California, Kelly was enjoying the night with a few close friends. Nick happened to end up at the same bar that night. Kelly’s friends had stepped outside for a few minutes, so Kelly was sitting by herself when Nicks’ friend encouraged him to go talk to the pretty girl at the bar. Nick didn’t have anything to lose so he walked right up to her. He quickly started conversation and asked to buy her a drink. Kelly kindly accepted and the rest is history. The day after they met Kelly invited Nick to the lake with some friends. The lake day turned into many days and nights of going out with friends and having the time of their lives. Their chemistry was instant and they both knew that this was something special. Fast forward two and a half years later Nick started planning how he wanted to ask Kelly to marry him. On a Friday in late November Nick told Kelly he was going to check out a fishing spot near Truckee. He actually drove to her parents’ house and asked Kelly’s father for his blessing to marry her. On December 15th, 2018, Nick and Kelly were celebrating Christmas at Kelly’s parents’ house. Nick had planned with her parents to take family photos in front of the river behind their home, one of Nicks favorite spots. Unbeknownst to Kelly, while Nick and Kelly were standing together, posing for Christmas pictures, in front of family and close friends, Nick turned to Kelly and told her “You’re not getting kitchen cabinets for Christmas” and pulled out a ring box from his back pocket, got down on one knee, and asked Kelly to marry him. Everyday they are both grateful they met that random Friday night. Neither could imagine their lives without each in it. Nick and Kelly are so grateful for all the love and support surrounding them and cannot wait to celebrate this exciting step in their lives with close family and friends.
