There’s a belief that an invisible string connects us to those we are meant to meet; that your paths may cross throughout your life, but you won’t be brought together until the timing is right. For us, that meant a lot of crossover growing up in the same city. Like Mike and his brother, Nick, playing sports with Kelly’s brothers, David and Michael, growing up. Or Kelly going to the same K–8 school as Mike’s cousins and spending time around that Peabody family during high school. Kelly and Mike also went to the same high school—probably passed each other in the halls at some point—but never spoke a word to each other. Most summers, Kelly would see Mike’s siblings at a Peabody beach day, but Mike was never there because of summer baseball. Fast forward to the summer of 2020: Mike was finally around due to the pandemic. A few months later, Mike was in his senior year at UC Irvine and invited his cousin and her friends (Kelly included) to a party in Newport Beach. Little did we know, that night was the start of our forever. After three and a half years of dating, Mike proposed at Piazzale Michelangelo overlooking Florence, Italy. It wasn’t difficult deciding where we wanted to get married—bringing it back to the city where it all started—and keeping it close to where our lives moved in parallel for so long before bringing us together. We can’t wait to share this special day with you all!
