Kelly and I started as friends of friends back in 2012. I was just starting medical school and Kelly was busy designing clothes in Downtown LA. We would occasionally run into each other over the next few years but it wasn't until 2014, while at our friends' wedding, that we became a bigger part of each other's lives. After spending more time together, I learned the difference between gold and rose gold, that the correct indoor temperature is 72 degrees (or cooler!), and that Shannon makes the BEST weekend brunches. Kelly tells me she discovered her love for sopes and flan, learned to keep an eye on her car's tire pressures, and the kindness and generosity of my mom, dad and the rest of my family. A few years later, after her dad and I shared several of his trademark margaritas, I asked Larry for Kelly's hand in marriage. After getting his blessing, Kelly and I drove up to Santa Barbara and I proposed to her in front of the old Mission. I chose the Mission because it represented the durable, resilient and beautiful relationship that Kelly and I had started and that I wanted for the future. Many breakfast burritos, taco trucks and bottles of champagne later, we are here together and we are very excited to celebrate with all of you!
