The Wedding Website of Kelly Cooney and Matt Echave
Question

Did you actually send a 'Save the Date' with no date and no location?

Answer

Sort of. Roughly half of you received a super cute magnet with the save the date and location. The other half of you had your magnet confiscated by US Mail. Either way, you are all invited to our wedding July 28th 2018 Aspen, CO.

Question

How do I get there?

Answer

The easiest way is to fly into Aspen Airport. Flying into Aspen, you can manage with public transportation, but we'd recommend renting a car if you are thinking of exploring the area. Alternately, there are often plenty of flights into Eagle (Vail) County Airport, Denver International Airport, and Grand Junction Airport. If you are going to fly into Denver, just be mindful that it is a 3.5/4 hour drive to Aspen, so please plan accordingly. Very pretty drive in the summer though.

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

The events are split between Carbondale and Aspen, these towns are about 45 minutes apart. Matt and I and a lot of the wedding party will stay in Carbondale, or near River Valley Ranch, where Kellys' parents live. It's casual and family friendly with lots of houses for rent in the summer. If you have a large group this could be a good option. Additionally, we have room rates locked for Cooney-Echave Wedding at Elements Hotel in Basalt, halfway between Carbondale and Aspen. It is a great jumping off point for up valley hiking and down valley biking and fishing. Reserve using the following link: starwoodmeeting.com/book/cooneyechavewedding. The Wedding will be near Aspen, halfway between Aspen and Snowmass. If you're craving more glitz and glam, restaurants and nightlife, then Aspen is a good place to stay and gorgeous this time of year. We suggest you book a place early, as July is a popular time of year. If you're having trouble finding accommodations, let us know and we can help.

Question

When should I get there?

Answer

We'd recommend getting into town a few days early to spend time with us, our families, and to adjust to the altitude. The ceremony itself will be at 9518 ft, woowee, which should be beautiful and breathtaking :). If your schedules allows, we've listed a ton of our favorite activities in 'Things to Do'. Matt and I will arrive Tuesday or Wednesday before the wedding.

Question

Should I bring my kids?

Answer

Kids are welcome to all activities. The Rodeo, the Welcome Party, and the Wedding. We'll have a kid's menu at the Wedding ceremony. There are a ton of kid friendly activities in the Valley during the summer and plenty for them to do during the day as well. If you want to bring the kids for the family vacation, but prefer to leave them with a babysitter for the wedding, let us know and we can help you find a good babysitter or pair up with another family at the wedding also looking for a sitter. Please specify in your RSVP if kids will be joining for each event.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

We'll be the good looking ones in a white dress and the sharp suite. Our preference is that you wear Cocktail Attire for the Wedding and Casual for the Welcome Party. As for footwear, we're getting married in a meadow that's about a 100 ft away from the restaurant for the reception, so stiletto with caution, or opt for flat, platforms, or barefoot is also welcome. Colorado summers are usually low 80's, hign 70's in the afternoon, but will drop to crisp 50's after sunset. Consider bringing a shawl or light sweater for evening festivities.

Question

How do I get to the wedding ceremony?

Answer

Our preference is guests use the shuttles we will be providing to and from the venue. The wedding ceremony is at Pine Creek Cookhouse in Aspen, past Ashcroft Ghost Town, on a long and winding mountain road. We'll dance and serve cocktails into the late hours, and we want to spare everyone a late night drive on winding mountain roads. The shuttles will run every half hour or so to major towns in the valley. We'll provide more details as we get closer to the big day.

Question

What to expect at the Wedding Ceremony?

Answer

Arriving at Pine Creek Cookhouse is a stunning view of the valley and mountains in the distance. Weather permitting we'll do a ceremony in the meadow adjacent to the restaurant with light beverages. We'll serve a full cocktail hour 100 ft away on the patio overlooking the stream, adventurous types can try fishing in the creek. We'll have a sit down dinner, the food is what the venue is known for, so I have high expectations. We've planned to have a smores bar and plenty of desserts, yum, and then start the dancing at 8:30/ 9 pm. Shuttles will run to and from the ceremony after dinner, every half hour.

Question

Who should I call with questions?

Answer

You can call Matt or Kelly, but the real master of ceremony is Cathy Cooney, Kelly's mother, and she's probably your best bet for all things wedding for the next several months. ccooney522@sbcglobal.net.
