A cozy fortunetelling shack that has stood at the boardwalk since Marie founded the business in 1932. When Springsteen was a teenager hanging around the boardwalk, Madame Marie told him he would become famous. He did, and he returned the favor by making her famous in a song quoted in most stories about her. “Did you hear the cops finally busted Madame Marie for telling fortunes better than they do?” he crooned in his 1973 ballad “Fourth of July, Asbury Park."
