Kelly and Matt met in the dear old Cumberland Valley, 'neath the glowing sky. Though despite all of the romance novels Kelly reads, it was not love at first sight. The two mellophone players in the Ship Marching Band did become friends and bonded over a mutual love of sports (however, definitely NOT the same teams). And when Kelly graduated two years before Matt, they did stay in touch. Kelly was looking for some friends to run a 5K one summer, and Matt offered to come out to the Philadelphia area from Harrisburg to run with her. They had a great time at the race and that weekend. And started talking a bit more. Matt really sealed the deal when he mailed a Christmas card with a bag of Reese's Cups and treats for Kelly's cat. She asked him on a date immediately after that.
