Travel Information for International Guests

Wedding Date: August 15, 2026 Venue: Schloss Bensberg, Bergisch Gladbach (near Cologne, Germany) Welcome Dinner: Optional welcome dinner in Cologne on Friday, August 14 for guests traveling from the US. Please let Kelly or Martin know if you'd like to attend! Flights Recommended Airports: Direct flights available from most major international airports: - Frankfurt Airport (FRA) - 1 hour train or 2 hour drive to Cologne - Amsterdam Schiphol (AMS) - 2.5 hour train from Amsterdam city center, or 2.5-3 hour drive to Cologne - Brussels Airport (BRU) - 2 hour train or 2.5 hour drive to Cologne Require connection (closest to venue): - Cologne Bonn Airport (CGN) - 20 minute drive - Düsseldorf Airport (DUS) - 45 minute drive From Philadelphia/Newark: Direct flights available to Frankfurt, Amsterdam, and Brussels. United Airlines offers direct routes from Newark and is typically the most affordable option. Düsseldorf and Cologne require connections but are closest to the venue. From Amsterdam or Brussels, take a train or connecting flight to Cologne. Car rentals available at all airports. Book 2-3 months in advance for best rates. Accommodations We will have a hotel room block in Cologne. Details coming soon! Schloss Bensberg: Our venue is also a luxury hotel with a small room block available. Please reach out to Kelly and Martin if you would like to book at the Schloss. Guests are also welcome to book accommodations outside of these room blocks. Transportation Airport to Hotel: Taxi, train, private transfer, or rental car available at all airports. Wedding Day: Complimentary shuttle service from the Cologne hotel block to Schloss Bensberg (approximately 25-minute drive). Travel Essentials - Passport: Valid for 6+ months beyond travel dates - Currency: Euro (EUR) - credit cards widely accepted - Time Zone: 6 hours ahead of EDT - consider arriving early to adjust - Electrical: Bring universal adapter for US devices (220V, Type C/F plugs)
