Kelly and Kaitlin met at UNCW in 2013 when Kaitlin started dating Kelly’s brother, Jon. Instantly, these two grew close and eventually became best friends and sister-in-laws (Thank you Jon for the best decision of your life!) Whether it is a girls wine night, family vacation, or celebrating milestones in each others’ lives,, these two are always looking to cause a little chaos in the best ways. Speaking of milestones, Kaitlin and Kelly hit a new milestone together almost two years ago when Kaitlin became a mom and Kelly a first time Aunt. Kaitlin is not only a super hero mom, but also helped Lukas pull off the biggest surprise of Kelly’s life, the reason we will all be together on April 13, 2024.
Maid of Honor
Danielle Mobbs Kelly and Danielle have known each other since Kelly was 1 minute old back in 1994. As family, Kelly and Danielle have always been close (so close Danielle would spend all of her summers in Charlotte babysitting), but they are also best friends today. They spend a lot of their time discussing Bravo TV and booking tropical vacations. For anyone that knows this duo together, you know you can bet you will find them wandering the streets of any new city, looking for that delicious bell tequila or a casino. Danielle is known to spill fireball on her bridesmaid dress right before the ceremony, so please, no fireball before the ceremony.
Bridesmaid
Kelly and Lacey have been best friends since they met at Thomasboro Academy in 2016. Lacey was teaching Kindergarten at the time and Kelly was just around the hall teaching 1st grade. These two grew close while enjoying (needing) a glass (bottle) of champagne at the pool, decompressing from the wild things kindergarteners and first graders would do throughout the day as well as getting over-served at Alive After Five on a Thursday and suffering with the same children on Fridays. A few years later, Lacey moved to Charleston, SC but that did not change anything for this friendship - This pair will always be looking for Wop or back that azz up in the clubs.
Bridesmaid
Kelly and Amy (AKA Mamy) have been best friends since meeting at UNCW in the Watson School of Education. This duo was ALWAYS together and somehow managed to be partners for almost every single class assignment, student teaching assignment and basically any activity in life. During their senior year, Kelly and Amy traveled abroad to San Pedro, Belize to vacation, I mean, teach and finish out their college experience....except Amy didn't actually have enough credits to graduate, so she and Kelly spent many hours in the belizean bars completing her final online course to walk at graduation together. Although Kelly and Amy live hours apart, these two can always pick right back up and celebrate their friendship.
Bridesman
Kelly and Michael have known each other since their prime days back at the DUB. Michael was friends and roommates with Kelly’s brother, Jon, but he and Kelly also grew to be friends while all hanging out. Michael took on the role of Sophie’s dad/nanny when Kelly got her during her Sophomore year of college (and many years after). He even came with Kelly and her college roommate to pick her out. Michael wasn't much help with the listening on how to take care of a puppy, instead he was laying on the floor with baby yorkies running all over him. Needless to say, he always made sure both Soph and I were safe in Wilmington. Michael is like a second big brother to Kelly and now the best bridesman as well.
Best Man
Lukas and De’Harion (D) met in 2007 playing football for South Pointe High School. They have managed to stay best friends since then. D knows more about Lukas than Lukas knows about Lukas. Fun Fact: D can rap nearly every Nicki Minaj song known to man.
Groomsman
Lukas and Sean have known each other since 2015 while working at Connolly’s on 5th in Charlotte, NC. Sean and Lukas have had weekly bro-dates at 3AM for a long time. 3AM conversations between the two can not be repeated. Fun Fact: Sean is oddly good at telling you where every NFL player went to college and how much they can bench press.
Groomsman
Lukas and Michael (Dad) have known each other since 1993. Michael gave Lukas the Ohio State “bug” at a young age and for that (among other things), Lukas is forever grateful. Fun Fact: Michael has been known to wreck multiple sailboats, but continues to blame faulty hardware.
Groomsman
Lukas and Jon have been future in-laws since November of 2021. They will soon be promoted by dropping the “future” part on April 13, 2024. Lukas now gets his style from Jon, so be sure to compliment Lukas if he looks good and address Jon for any concerns. Fun Fact: Jon once crashed on a scooter and Lukas will no longer allow Jon to drive his.
Groomsman
Lukas and Andy met in 2011 whilst being dorm-mates in Perkins Hall at Ohio University. Andy and Lukas became good friends and have remained friends since. Fun Fact: Andy and Lukas are the only duo known to be undefeated at “Water” Pong at Ohio University.
