Most people don't know how we actually met. Over the years we have told many different stories, for the simple fact that we were embarrassed. As the years have passed and our "embarrassment" fades, the truth is we met online on a dating app called "plenty of fish". We only exchanged a few messages before our conversation went from chat messages to text messaging, to phone calls. We quickly realized we had more in common than we would have thought, which led to our first date at Tully's only days later.

One of our favorite things to do every year is go to the Great New York State Fair! It is usually the only time that we get to get away together. The one thing that we look forward to every year is getting a character drawing done of the two of us. There has only been two times that we weren't able to make it due to factors out of our control. So, in August of 2021, Kacee came up with a master plan. He called ahead to the state fair and told them his idea to get a character drawing done of him proposing. He set up a specific time for us to get to the character tent, and have our picture drawn. The PR team for the New York State Fair caught wind of the plan and came up with a plan of their own. When the time came for us to sit down for our picture, the PR team let Kelly to believe that the cameras were just for the following years commercial. When the artist turned the drawing around, it showed Kacee down on one knee and said, "Will you marry me?". When Kelly turned to look at Kacee, he was down on one knee and said, "Well will you?" The entire thing was recorded by the PR team and was put up on the New York State Fair website. The Video also made local and state news. The last time we checked, the video had over 42K views on The Great New York State Fair Facebook page.
