Kelly and Josh’s love story officially began with a Hinge match in May of 2021—but as it turns out, the universe had been quietly weaving their story together for years. Although they grew up just 30 minutes apart in Illinois, their paths never crossed. Somehow, they both unknowingly followed each other to Michigan for college (different universities, same fate) and eventually landed in Grand Rapids after graduation. Looking back, the invisible string was always there. Years earlier, Kelly and Josh stood in the same crowd at Flume’s set at Lollapalooza in 2019—both with videos of the same song from the same moment. So close, yet completely unaware they’d one day build a life together. After matching online, it took a few months to finally meet—but once they did, everything clicked. Their first date was a cozy Sunday breakfast at Wolfgang’s in November 2021, and from that moment on, they were inseparable. What started with pancakes and a skillet quickly turned into a love filled with laughter and adventure. Together, they’ve explored places near and far, from their first trip together to San Diego, family time in cozy Mercer, Wisconsin, ringing in the New Year in the Bahamas with friends, and closing out 2025 with the trip of a lifetime to Turkey and Kenya. Along the way, they moved in together, adopted a brother (Karl) for JoJo, and built a home full of love. On May 4th, 2025, Josh proposed during a sunrise that felt nothing short of divine. Despite a forecast calling for pouring rain, the sky opened with a breathtaking morning glow, a moment Kelly and Josh know came straight from her dad in heaven. Now, as they kick off 2026 by buying their first home in the Creston neighborhood of Grand Rapids, they’re endlessly grateful for the twists, turns, and invisible strings that brought them here. They can’t wait to continue growing, adventuring, and choosing each other every day as they step into this next chapter as husband and wife. We are so excited to celebrate our special day with you!
