A promising review: These are the old, colonial neighborhoods of the city, the ones oozing traditional Spanish/Mexican charm, including meandering cobblestone streets and old style architecture. You have the Malecon seaside boardwalk, the Los Muertos beach and pier, and too many really fine restaurants, fun bars, and coffee shops to count. Walk Basilio Badillo, Madero, Carranza, Pulpito, or any number of other quaint streets and you will come across dozens of restaurants that rival the best San Francisco and New York have to offer, at a fraction of the cost.
