Everyone's safety is of upmost importance to us and we are closely monitoring the restrictions and limitations set by the local government. We do plan to get married at the Church on October 11, 2021 no matter what. As the date approaches, we will make a decision regarding when it is safe to celebrate with you all. We are hopeful that we will be able to safely celebrate with everyone on our invitation list come October. We are so very thankful for each and every one of you and for your presence in our lives! João and I first met in October of 2016 at a weekend retreat through the church. João was playing the drums for the music and I remember a mutual friend of ours asking me afterwards if I would be interested in dating him. At the time I said "no way", but little did I know that almost 5 years years later we would be preparing to get married. Almost a year passed and we reunited in 2017 where our friendship really flourished. I had recently accepted a job working as a chemist that kept me in the country, and I was surprised to learn that João had studied chemistry in Brazil himself. I guess you could say we had natural chemistry together. As our friendship grew, I began to see how funny João was and how many similar interests we had; from studying chemistry in undergrad, traveling, fishing, soccer, playing music and other various outdoor activities. On a June morning in 2018 while we were out fishing, João officially asked me to be his girlfriend and we began this next phase of our relationship. Fast forward two years, to the middle of a global pandemic on a beach in Nahant where, after many wonderful and challenging times spent together, João asked me to spend a lifetime together with him. Thank you for joining us to witness the beginning of our forever.
