Kelly and Ian’s modern covid love story began on September 21th, 2020, when Kelly made the easy decision to swipe right on her Bumble app during her lunch break at school. They texted back and forth for hours, realizing they had few mutual friends and common interests and made a plan to meet the following Friday. Ian offered to make Kelly his famous chicken-cutlets at his home in south Jersey. Although they had never met before, they each did their respective research on each other beforehand to ensure their safety during their COVID romance. During their first date they realized how much they had in common: both were beach lifeguards, college athletes, love to travel, cook, their careers focus on helping others and they love to be on the move! Ignoring the hour and fifteen minute distance between them, Kelly and Ian made every effort to see each other as much as possible. In June of 2022, Kelly left her Point Pleasant Beach apartment for good and headed down the parkway to exit 30. The couple moved into their first home together and spent the first 10 months spending time at the beach, trying local coffee shops, running the boardwalk, cooking Hello Fresh and supporting each other through their daily lives and routines. In this short amount of time, the two realized their love for traveling and hiking and visited 17 states and 10 National Parks together, mostly in a van. On April 9, 2023 over a bowl of beef and macaroni , Ian proposed to Kelly in their intimate campervan on the outskirts of North Cascades National Park in Washington state. The couple celebrated their engagement with 24 hours of no service and a 5 mile hike to Baker Hot Springs, where they soaked and relaxed and talked about the next chapter of their lives. On April 21, 2023, Kelly and Ian were introduced to a whole new kind of love, and brought home their golden retriever, Skylar. It was again, love at first sight. This coming August alongside their closest family and friends, Kelly and Ian will celebrate a new anniversary that will begin their most exhilarating chapter of their love story.
