In March of 2011, when Kelly was a sophomore at Valley Forge and Jerry was a junior at St. Eds, we both enrolled in the same driver's ed class. We spent the two-week course sitting on opposite sides of the classroom, never actually speaking to each other until and one fateful day, Kelly pulled into the driveway of the Schubert household to pick up Jerry for the in-car portion of the class. After Jerry got into the driver's seat, our driving instructor, George, accidentally handed him Kelly's paperwork, containing her first and last name. Up until that point, we were only familiar with each other's first names and if you have ever tried to find some on social media with only their first name, you know it is next to impossible. Thanks to George's mistake, Jerry had what he needed to find Kelly on Facebook. One friend request and thousands of text messages later, and the rest is history.
Surprise, there wasn't one! We have both known for a very long time that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together. We have been planning our future every day since we were two kids in high school. Last October, we decided to something a little crazy and we got matching tattoos on our wrists of the roman numeral eleven (for 2011- the year we got together). It was cheaper than a ring and not to mention, a much more permanent commitment to one another. A traditional proposal seemed completely redundant to us both, after understanding that we were each other's one-and-only for so long. After patiently waiting for so many years, it is finally the perfect time for us to get married and we are so excited!
