We are so excited to be gearing up for our wedding once again! Even though Covid derailed us a bit, we cannot wait to celebrate with you on July 31st, 2021 in Los Angeles!
In 2015, Kelly took her last opportunity for a free trip to Israel and signed up for Birthright. She knew that she would not fall for the typical gimmicks of the trip (meet a nice, Jewish boy, move to Israel), and would just go to enjoy exploring a new place and learning about a new culture. At the same time, over 7,000 miles (12,000 km) away, Elad was finishing his seventh and final year in the Israeli Navy and was planning on joining a Birthright trip of his own. As fate would have it, just before he was scheduled to leave for his trip, Elad was called away on an operation. When he went to demand that he be put on another trip, he was placed with a group from Los Angeles. On June 14th, Kelly landed in Israel (along with 40 other excited American Jews), and Elad was there waiting with roses at the airport. After a camel ride in the desert, Elad, Kelly, and some new friends got to know each other over a Beduin feast and continued chatting as the sun set over the Negev. The two connected right away and were inseparable for the rest of the ten day journey through Israel. That ten day whirlwind encounter quickly turned into more than what either of them anticipated. Two years of long distance later and a few international adventures along the way, Kelly moved to Israel. One year later, Kelly and Elad moved to Los Angeles as Elad started business school at USC, and a few months after that on a ski trip in Utah, Elad popped the question, with the assistance of Kelly's sisters and brother-in-law. Kelly absolutely fell for at least part of the Birthright mission, and the two could not be more excited to kick off this next adventure with help celebrating from all of their family and friends!
