Our priority is your comfort. This wedding will predominantly be outdoors in a grassy field with chickens, ducks, and goats roaming around. Thus, we recommend shoes that you are comfortable standing and walking in. This is a small wedding – feel free to keep a pair in your car to change into if you aren’t sure! October in Virginia can be cool or hot, given the day. Dress accordingly. Again, feel free to bring additional jackets, sweaters, or a change of clothes and leave them in your car and change if needed. Sunglasses, hats, etc. on hand are a good idea too! While the wedding party will be dressed up, we want you to wear what you would be comfortable in. Think ‘day at a winery’ or ‘fancy picnic’ garb. We will monitor the weather in the days ahead of the wedding and reach out via email with any information about expected inclement weather and related recommendations.
There will be the ceremony beginning at 3:30, followed by a cocktail hour with yard games and activities. We’ll end with a seated dinner. Things should wrap up around 8 pm.
For the health of all of our guests, we require everyone to be vaccinated according to the current CDC guidelines and to test prior to attending.
Yes - there is free parking on the venue premises. You’ll park in the field behind the main property. Be aware, to get to the farm, you will take a bumpy, gravel road.
There will be hors 'd'oeuvres during cocktail hour. Dinner will be a plated two-course meal followed by dessert. Alcoholic beverages during the cocktail hour will include wine and beer selections.
You will be able to inform us through the website about any dietary restrictions when you RSVP. If for any reason you have trouble with the website or forget to mention something in your RSVP, please just reach out to Dan or Kelly directly.
For those with animal allergies, be aware that there are ducks, goats, and chickens roaming around. There may be a cat or dog too. We are sure some of the kids (and adults) will be extra excited about the animals! We want children and animals alike to have a good time at our wedding. Please make sure all kids are respectful to the animals and don’t chase or otherwise harass.
