Kelly and Chris met the “modern” way-on a popular dating website in 2016, two days before Valentines Day. The first message started as a quick late night "hey” which turned into a conversation that lasted until the early morning. They were very excited to meet each other the next day, but Kelly already had plans to go to an Anti-Valentines day party with her best friend Jessica. Coincidentally, that bar was only ONE minute down the road from Chris’ house—-which by the way was only a few minutes from where Kelly grew up! Same town, same time, never met….until then. Needless to say, Chris met her there and that was the beginning of their love story.

Chris designed the engagement ring himself, waited a whole month for it to come and was planning on doing a Christmas proposal, but once it came he knew he couldn't wait that long. Chris had given the ring to his father to hold, so when they had planned a fishing trip to Sodom Reservoir, Chris told Kelly that he needed to pick up his fathers boating permit to use the rowboat, so they made a quick stop at his dads to pick up the “permit” aka the RING. Walking back to the car, Chris comes out holding an envelope… To those that know Kelly know how “inquisitive” she can be, so the fact that she didn't open the envelope still baffles her to this day. Out on the water, they take their normal fishing course and after a while stop at an Island to stretch their legs. Kelly starts to walk back to the boat and Chris calls out and says “Hey Kelly look at this” as he is kneeling near a little sapling tree. Once Kelly looks over she sees he is holding an open ring box and starts stammering on about how she has to call so many people….she was so excited she forgot to say YES!
