We’re fricken millennials - of course, we met on social media! Twelve years ago, I (Kel) friended Barek on Facebook. Sure, I noticed he was cute, but we also had a bunch of mutual friends, so I figured, why not? He accepted my request, followed me back, and sent a quick “thanks for the add” message. We chatted a bit, but life had other plans. At the time, I wasn’t in the headspace for small talk. I’d lost my mom the year before, and grief had completely changed my world. Barek was walking through his own season of pain, too - though, I didn’t know that then. And honestly, the idea of long distance felt like too much. (Who knew that years later, he’d drive all the way to Idaho for our first date?) So, the conversation faded… but God wasn’t done writing our story. Fast forward to the beginning of 2025 - we reconnected. This time, we were both in the healthiest, happiest chapters of our lives. And it just clicked. Now, we’re each other’s puzzle pieces - together, we just fit. We love Jesus and holding hands in church, we crack jokes constantly, and we somehow balance adventure and peace perfectly. Whether it’s exploring new places on the Harley, bingeing crime documentaries, checking in on each other, or cuddling on the couch with our two dogs, we feel grounded, grateful, and completely at home with one another. Most importantly, we’re each other’s anchors when life gets heavy - and each other’s biggest cheerleaders when it shines. We’re giving each other the best years of our lives, and we can't wait to celebrate with YOU!💛
