We’ve waited 926 days...Party accordingly!!!

Mike and Kirstin matched on Bumble (online dating app) July 29th of 2016. After matching with some duds, Kirstin was about ready to be done with online dating in general. However, she said she would do one last swipe..... who would have known it was her future husband! At the time, Kirstin and Mike had lived 40 minutes apart so they met at a restaurant/bar (formally Stoneyard) in the middle for their first date. Mike arrived 20 minutes early, and Kirstin was running 15 minutes late (he quickly learned that is her early!) Despite him thinking she almost stood him up, they instantly clicked. The rest is history... In February 2020, Mike finally decided to propose. He rented a house on Cayuga Lake and said it was for Kirstin’s birthday/ Valentine’s Day get away. Mike is always surprising Kirstin with weekend trips so nothing seemed suspicious. Furthermore, he always told Kirstin that his plan was to make her wait 8 years or so before they got engaged...Needless to say she was completely shocked when he pulled out a ring box. I believe her exact words were “what is that?!?!”. Anyways, back to the proposal... The morning of February 21st, Mike made plans for the two of them to go on a walk at Taughannock Falls in Ithaca, NY. It was a beautiful snowy morning and the two had the whole place to themselves. After a brief walk, they got to the main destination which is the beautiful falls. After taking in the beauty, Mike asked Kirstin if she promised to go on adventures for the rest of their lives. Mike then got down on one knee and cue the waterworks! From Kirstin obviously... Mike was as calm, cool, and collected as he always is :) After taking it all in, the two headed out to get breakfast at Ithaca Bakery, and got to surprise their friends and family with the news!
