Riley had finally worked up the courage to ask Kelli out to dinner. Their first date was on Valentine's Day of 2014. Riley picked Kelli up in his black maxima; bringing her a large teddy bear, candy, and a bouquet of roses.They both enjoyed a delicious meal at Olive Garden. Followed by a trip to the movies at Quail Springs theatre. Riley captured Kelli's heart by making her laugh throughout the whole evening. After the date, Riley drove Kelli home and they said their goodbyes. Kelli went inside and told her mom about the evening and when she said, "He didn't even try to kiss me!" Her mother replied, "Is he gay?"

After a few months of dating, they found out they would be having a baby in February of 2015. Nervously excited they prepared for their sweet baby girl to arrive. On February 18th, 2015, Adalynn Grace Mize was born. 7 pounds 8 oz and 20 inches long. This sweet girl has been a key part of our relationship. She brought our family close and helped us to grow up together.

Riley spoke with Kelli's Grandfather and asked him for his blessing and asked that he give her away at their wedding. Then on October 25, 2018 Riley brought Kelli to an open-mic that he attends on Thursdays called JJ's alley for stand up comedy. He called Kelli up to the stage during his set as if to do a bit, and to her surprise she turned to him on one knee asking her to marry him. She said, "YES!"
