We’re getting married!

We had plans to go and visit Rhett’s family in Colorado for the weekend. We would drive down to where his brother and his wife were staying and Rhett’s parents and younger brother were going to meet us there as well. Rhett, his friend Stephen, sister Hayley, our friend Chloe, and me all piled into Hayley’s subaru and began the drive. It was a long trip with winding roads as we got into the mountains and we all ended up feeling at least a little bit queasy by the end of it. We arrived Friday night and had some family time - even tho it was pretty late - and Rhett’s sister-in-law, Emma, decided to randomly paint my nails. We got up the next morning and went to a mountain town not too far away from where we stayed called Ouray. There was a waterfall that we wanted to see, so we began looking for the trail - which took a while to find the right one. We finally found it and it was so beautiful! We saw that there was a way we could make it behind the actual falls, so we hiked up the steep incline and made it over. It was a tight squeeze with all the rocks, but we managed to get through to the other side without sliding to our deaths off the steep drop-off. Emma had brought a nice camera to take pictures with, so we all got nice pictures together. It got to be Rhett and my turn and we walked over to the spot for the shot and he said, “Turn around that way! I want to do a funny pose!” I turned without thinking it all the way through. After a few seconds of confusion in my brain, I turned as I asked, “Wait, what am I supposed to do?” I turned around to see him down on one knee with the ring box open and his answer was, “Marry me?” I was taken completely by surprise! I am so excited to be marrying my absolute best friend!
