I was living in Albuquerque, NM when my best friend Tawny received the news her wife was going to be stationed in Columbia, SC at Fort Jackson. Josh had took off a random Thursday to go drink with some of his friends. Josh met my friend Tawny in a local bar Delaney's in the heart of five points. My best friend asked him why he had no girlfriend or wife. He proceeded to tell her what he wanted in a women and was unable to find. Tawny then expressed how much he needed to meet me and gave him my phone number. I still remember the first text message I received from him, "Is this Kelli without the Y". He continued to make me laugh and truly wanted to know everything about me. We would Skype every morning and talked as if we had already been dating for years. Before Josh and I met I purchased a plane ticket to go visit my friend at her new home. My friend unfortunately moved back to New Mexico in April. After Josh and I discussed and planned we decided to just go meet in Charleston, SC in person since I had to use my plane ticket anyway. On May 27th I flew into Charleston, SC and there he was with one single rose in his hand dressed so handsomely. Everyone in the airport just seemed to disappear except for us. We were laughing, talking, and kissing at the baggage claim for what seemed like forever. We then headed to the hotel where he had cute gifts and expensive champagne waiting for me. I thought to myself I cannot believe I finally found someone who wants to make me feel special. I changed quickly and we went to go for a night out with his sister Kim and her husband JW (boyfriend at the time). We all went to downtown Charleston where we all had fun drinking and conversing. I still did not see anyone in the room but Josh. We just connected on a level that I had never experienced with anyone ever. Once we made it home safely he then asked me to be his girlfriend. I was sooo happy and excited to start my journey with him.
