Let’s take a trip down memory lane, shall we? Isaiah and Kelli met in High School in 2015. They were in the same Economics class with Mr. Chance and through a mutual friend suggestion, Kelli found Isaiah’s Instagram. She realized he was in her class and pressed “Follow”. Not even 5 minutes later Isaiah accepted it and followed her right back, alongside spam liking all of her photos. It was no secret that Isaiah was into Kelli. He was persistent on asking her to the Homecoming dance that was not even 2 weeks later. Well, it didn’t take much convincing after Isaiah shows up at Kelli’s house dressed as Tarzan asking if she would “Swing on a vine to Homecoming with him,” but forgetting the main part of his act, the red vines candy. The pun still made sense though, don’t worry. Well, how could Kelli say no? So, they went to Homecoming together. After that, you would think that Isaiah’s dance moves would be enough to win Kelli’s heart, but it didn’t. It took a few months for Kelli to give in to going on a first date, but on that first date she realized she was a goofball for not saying yes sooner. From then on, it was no secret that they were meant for one another. Finally, Isaiah asked Kelli to be his girlfriend. That senior year of High School they were inseparable. Kelli attended all home and away basketball games for Isaiah, she was his biggest cheerleader. Isaiah and Kelli went on many adventures together and learned a lot about one another that year. It wasn’t long before they knew what God had in store for their relationship. Through High School graduation, college, and many other big events in their life, they remained best friends and partners in crime. God tested their commitment to each other as a couple, but it was not anything they could not handle. Here we are, almost 6 years later, engaged and happier than ever! Still to this day, Kelli believes going on that first date was the best decision she has ever made. They can’t wait for forever. Xoxo
Isaiah has never been one to be able to handle a secret for long. He is known for telling Kelli what he gets her for her birthday and or Christmas every year. Well, if you know Kelli, you know she is nosey so she probably asked first. Anyways, Isaiah took Kelli to San Diego for the weekend. Kelli had her suspicions because he had absolutely nothing planned, but she went with it anyways. He was adamant about one thing, and that was they HAD to be at Sunset Cliffs at 4:30pm. As they pulled into the parking lot to park, Kelli sees both her mother’s car and Isaiah’s dad’s car parked nearby. Kelli thinks to herself, “Hmm, that’s weird,” but she did not say anything because she had a strong feeling that they weren’t just there to admire the beauty of San Diego. Kelli started to get nervous and Isaiah was thinking “What in the heck are they doing parking right here? It is going to spoil the surprise!” It was the most beautiful day and something new for both of them to experience. Isaiah took Kelli’s hand and guided her to where they needed to go. She felt his hand sweating profusely. They arrived at the edge of the cliff and Kelli looks down to see the most beautiful set up. It had pictures of them, Darlene's famous cookies, and more. She says “Is this for us?” As tears well up in her eyes, Isaiah takes her down the hill and Kelli actually loses her shoe, but plays it cool because she now realizes what they were there for and knows someone is around taking photos. Isaiah takes her hand and expresses his love for her. They could not tell you exactly what Isaiah said because of the nerves. Kelli said the moment he got down on one knee, everything beyond him was a blur and she could only see him. Oh and that nice shiny ring in the box! Isaiah shared that he had a whole speech planned out but he forgot it all and winged it. It didn’t matter though because it turned out to be the most perfect evening. We are so thankful for everyone involved. Love you all!
