Things To Do

We've listed a few fun spots to visit around Marion, as well as great things to do if you'd like to extend your trip in Columbus or Cleveland. If you do want to spend some extra time in Cleveland, we'd be more than happy to share more of our favorite places and recommend places to stay.

MARION

One of Ohio's 75 state parks, Delaware State Park is home to a 1300 acre lake with a public beachfront, six one to one-and-a-half mile hiking trails popular for birdwatching, a dog park, and a 27-hole disc golf course.

Harding Tomb & Presidential Library

Native son Warren Harding's presidential library just opened in 2021, adjacent to the recently renovated home he conducted his "Front Porch Campaign" from in 1920. Nearby is the Harding Tomb, the last of the elaborate presidential memorials.

Marion Brewing Company

Marion Brewing Company

151 South Main Street, Marion, OH 43302

A cute little brewery in the heart of Marion, this is where we organized our thoughts after our first visit to the Brickyard on Main - something that became a tradition at the other venues we visited.

White Shutter Winery & Brewery

The first vineyard in the county, White Shutter is a cozy winery/brewery with various events, great views, and house-made wines and craft beers.

CLEVELAND

The Cleveland Museum of Art

The Cleveland Museum of Art

11150 East Boulevard, Cleveland, OH 44106

One of the most-visited art museums in the world, CMA has a gorgeous 61,000+ piece collection, housed both in the building and in an outdoor gallery in neighboring Wade Park. Highlights include Picasso's "La Vie", a monumental-size cast of The Thinker damaged in a Weather Underground bombing in 1970, and the interactive ARTLENS exhibit.

Cleveland Museum of Natural History

Cleveland Museum of Natural History

1 Wade Oval Drive, Cleveland, OH 44106

A fantastic museum in Cleveland's University Circle, home to an extensive dinosaur and fossil collection; "Lucy" was discovered by its curator in 1974, and a full-size cast and recreation are also on display here. We're even friends with the CSO!

Rock & Roll Hall of Fame

Rock & Roll Hall of Fame

1100 East 9th Street, Cleveland, OH 44114
, (216) 781-7625

No visit to Cleveland is complete without a trip to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame downtown! In addition to their numerous permanent exhibits and the Hall of Fame itself, "Beatles: Get Back to Let It Be" is a must-see that had its run extended through the end of this year.

COLUMBUS

One of Ohio's most *unique* attractions, it's just a field of giant corn.

German Village

German Village

Columbus, OH

Built by German settlers hundreds of years ago, just south of downtown Columbus. The area is defined by its brick homes and shops, as well as brick-lined streets. Local businesses include pastry and coffee shops and the truly unique 32-room Book Loft, and free Shakespeare at the neighborhood’s Schiller Park.
