Mike and Kelley first met in high school in the fall of 2002. Although they had both been secretly crushing on each other for months, it took Mike working up the courage to ask Kelley to lunch during a third-period class transfer to get things started. When Mike asked Kelley to lunch, she didn't want to seem too eager or let on just how excited she was, so her initial response was: "Eww, no." Not missing a beat, Mike replied, "Fine, but I was going to go to Chipotle." The mention of Chipotle was all it took for Kelley to quickly—and hungrily—change her mind. After that, the two bonded over what they jokingly considered gourmet lunches—Chicken Burritos from Chipotle. A few lunch outings later, Mike officially asked Kelley to be his girlfriend on Valentine's Day in 2003. This time, she eagerly said "yes." What began as a high school romance grew into a lifelong partnership. Over the years, Mike and Kelley shared countless adventures, celebrated milestones, supported each other through life's ups and downs, and became proud paw-parents to Odie, Bruno, and Keanu. Together, they've built a home filled with love, laughter, and plenty of four-legged joy. When they're not spending time with family and friends gathered around a carne asada feast, you can usually find them curled up together binge-watching their favorite shows. Through every season of life, one thing has never changed: Mike's ability to make Kelley laugh. Whether through life's biggest moments or the simplest everyday moments, laughter has always been at the heart of their relationship. Sixteen years later, surrounded by family and friends, Mike planned another unforgettable surprise. Before Kelley knew what was happening, Mike was down on one knee, with both he and Kelley's sister, Vanessa, patiently waiting to hear another "yes." This time, the question was a little different: "Will you marry me?" And just like before, the answer was an enthusiastic "yes." Now, after 23 years of friendship, laughter, love, gourmet Chicken Burritos, three beloved dogs, countless binge-watching marathons, and many carne asadas shared with family and friends, Mike and Kelley are excited to begin their next chapter as husband and wife.
