For Men: “Think polished but not stiff — slacks or chinos paired with a button-down shirt or a neat polo. A blazer or sports coat is a great addition, but a tie is optional. Loafers, brogues, or clean dress sneakers work well. Avoid jeans, shorts, or anything too relaxed.” For Women: “Opt for a casual cocktail dress, a chic midi dress, or a stylish blouse with tailored pants or a skirt. Jumpsuits are also a great option. Heels, wedges, or dressy flats complete the look. Keep it elegant but comfortable — think garden party meets sophistication.”
There are uneven steps made of stone and wood and a gravel parking lot. While all these surfaces are very secure (and transportation is available for any with special requirements) we would not recommend not wearing a thin, stiletto style heel unless you are comfortable walking on these surfaces or have a second pair of shoes available following the ceremony and cocktail hour.
The ceremony will begin at 4pm. Please arrive early enough to find a seat, late enough to avoid helping set up chairs. Basically, 15–30 minutes before the ceremony starts is perfect.
This venue is not far from town, but is off main roads in a more rural area. There is ample parking for free on the property. An Uber or Lyft should not be a challenge during daytime hours.
If you plan to Uber, please book your ride in advance of leaving the venue. Please do not wait until the end of the event to allow time to find an Uber. This venue is not downtown and can be a challenge later into the evening due to location.
Unless immediate family or noted on your invite as an exception, we ask that no children attend without contacting Ellen and Kevin in advance.
We recommend the Hilton Garden Inn in Rock Hill, SC the night before and after the wedding. We live in Huntersville, NC north of Charlotte, so if you are staying in town beyond then and want to see the married couple, we would advise renting closer to where we live, not the venue.
We have made special arrangements to accommodate our vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free guests. We have also opted to include no peanut butter at our wedding to avoid a common nut allergy. If you have a specific allergy we may not be aware of and need to also accommodate, please contact Ellen immediately.
If your invitation says “+1,” absolutely! If not… we still love you, but we’re on a budget. Blame the cake prices.
We moved! We are no longer in Charlotte, but now in Huntersville. Please reach out if you need our full address or the address on the registry does not look correct. We want to ensure everyone's beautiful gifts arrive without issue!
