Power and Light District
Only 1 mile away from our wedding Venue and downtown hotels! Fun nightlife and restaurants! Kansas City Live outdoor concert venue is located in the center, and bars, clubs, games and restaurants are situated around. A few favorites are: Guy Fieri's Dive and Taco Joint, Blue Sushi, BRGR (burgers), PBR Big Sky (country bar), No Other Pub (Games and Drinks), Shark Bar (Beach/90's theme). "The Kansas City Power & Light District is Kansas City's most dynamic neighborhood. It is located in the heart of Downtown, and spans eight and a half blocks of exciting restaurants, entertainment, nightlife, shopping and amenities, as well as office space and apartment living. It is easily accessible from all major highways and attracts millions of visitors each year. The District is about 20 minutes south of the Kansas City International Airport (MCI) and less than 8 minutes south of the Downtown Airport."
River Market
CITY MARKET The City Market area is a fun place to explore. Coffee, tacos and Minsky's Pizza, and Betty Rae's Ice Cream! Ride the KC Street Car and/or walk around the Farmer's Market on Saturday and Sunday. The Farmer's Market is open Saturday and Sunday from 8am-3pm. We LOVE walking around the farmers market vendors, fresh flowers and homemade goods, spice market, River Market Coffee House, and Opera House Coffee and Breakfast/brunch. STREETCAR The KC Streetcar is free to ride and currently runs from Union Station down to the River Market, making a loop along Grand and Delaware, and on 3rd and 5th streets. Park anywhere along the street car line, including two FREE parking lots available on weekends near the North Loop stops at 601 Main and 711 Main. Boulevard Brewing Company
This is a KC favorite! Great local beer! They also make their own gluten free hard seltzer- called Quirk- Kelleen's favorite! Sit and enjoy indoors or on the balcony overlooking Kansas City's skyline. You can also take a 1-hour public brewery tour for $15 a person, if you schedule the day before, and include five 5oz samples to be enjoyed during and after the tour. Tickets should be purchased in advance. Advance ticket sales stop at 10:00 am CST on the day of the tour."
