We were both at a mutual friend, TJ's, New Years party. I was working at one pharmacy with TJ and John was working at another. TJ introduced the two of us and we began talking. Later on John asked TJ if I was seeing anyone. He told John that I was talking to someone, so sadly John and I did not share a New Years kiss. A couple of weeks later TJ gave John my number, and the rest is history. John and I's running inside joke for 2017 was "Remember when I met you last year?"
After a few months of discussing marriage and our dreams, I surprised Kelsi with a ring! The ring was ready a week before I proposed and I was very nervous to ask her the big question. Thoughts of how the proposal should go filled my mind, but eventually I decided on what to do. Because it was unlikely that I would have met Kelsi without TJ, I felt that he should be included in the proposal in some way. As the proposal day approached, we were invited to a Dallas Cowboy's game and the outdoor proposal was uncertain due to changes in the weather. The day came for the proposal and we headed to the Corn Maze to meet TJ before we left town. The clouds were blocking out the sun, but right as we arrived they cleared from the sky and the sun began to shine. We decided to take some pictures since the weather was cooperating. As we stood back to back for a picture I turned around and got down on a knee and asked her to marry me. She said yes and we had a wonderful weekend of celebrating our engagement.
