Two days after Shayna, Devin (Dustys cousin), and I moved into an apartment together, Devin invited his cousins Tyler & Dusty over to hang out. First meeting him, I thought he was so handsome, funny, kind, and a gentleman. Right then I knew he was the one.
January of 2016, my family and I were headed to Florida for a cruise to the Bahamas. I then received a message from Dusty on Facebook asking why such a kind, bubbly, and pretty girl was on a dating website. Smooth, huh? Our conversation was so much fun and interesting that I couldnt get on this cruise ship and not talk to him for the whole week. On a Cruise you have no cell phone service unless you pay extra. So you bet I bought the internet package to continue talking to him! LOL! Once we returned from the cruise, Dusty and I set up a date for when I return. We literally went out the night we came back from the cruise (Jan.17th)! We went to Beer Barrel, had spaghetti and meatballs and then went to Regal Cinemas and watched a movie. Neither of us remember the movie LOL. We really hit it off and continued to text daily and stay at each others houses.
After talking and hanging out for six months, we finally decided that it was time to make our relationship official and let everyone know we were dating! The whole time it felt official but we both just came out of some pretty rough situations and wanted to take it slow and not rush into a relationship. I've never felt more happy in my life. I finally found a man who was handy, gentleman, kind hearted, and passionate. I found THE one!
Dusty and I found the perfect house that had everything we both wanted at an affordable price in Delphos. We live down the road from his grandparents, my parents, his dad, and his brother! Dusty grew up in Delphos and graduated from Delphos Jefferson, I grew up in Lima and graduated from Elida. My family however moved to Delphos in the fall of 2015 and then 2 months later I moved into the apartment in Delphos with Shayna and Devin. Just think, if I didnt move out of my moms I probably never would've met Dusty. Three months after moving into the house, we (by we I mean I LOL) decided that we needed a dog! So we went to the Allen County Humane Society and adopted our Lab Mix - Zeus! Since then our family of 3 has been a never ending moment of excitement.
For my 23rd Birthday, we went to the old barn out back with my family and celebrated. After we had ate and got settled in, they brought out my cake and on the top it said "Congratulations on your engagement" and I just bawled my eyes out and the tears wouldn't stop! What a great surprise! Also my papaw drove up from Tennessee, so that too was a surprise! Dusty got down on one knee and opened the ring box and it is beautiful! My heart has never been so full to be surrounded by family and have such a special day!
