We met on Tinder while living in South Carolina, where something about each other’s profiles stood out right away. From that very first conversation, we quickly bonded over our shared Texas roots and a mutual love of the movie Hot Rod (and the very important debate: grilled cheese vs. taco in a fight). What started as a few messages turned into regular travel between Travelers Rest (where Ashley lived) and Greenville (where Kevin lived), and a relationship built on late weeknight hangouts, weekend visits, and eventually even flight routes as Ashley became a flight attendant in Philadelphia. No matter the distance, we always found our way back to each other, and most of our best memories started on the road. Together, we’ve explored so much of the Carolinas, falling in love with places like Charleston, Asheville, the Biltmore - in addition to the surrounding cities, like Atlanta, and Savannah. Those early adventures turned into a deeper love for simply experiencing life together, whether it was a new city, a favorite restaurant, or just a quiet night in. Over time, we became best friends. Ashley slowly became part of everything, from joining weekly Sunday “Game of Thrones” dinners with Kevin’s family to family vacations together. It didn’t take long before life in Greenville became “ours". In 2021, we made our biggest move yet, to Houston, Texas to start a new chapter together. Since then, we’ve built a life full of friends, new traditions, and even more travel. From Mexico and beach getaways to trips across Ireland, DC, Chicago, Las Vegas, Sedona, the Grand Canyon, and multiple Disney trips (we swear we’re not that obsessed). We’ve loved every opportunity to explore together. Houston has brought us closer to Ashley’s family in Dallas and a wonderful village, where we’ve been lucky enough to grow deeper bonds with all of our amazing friends. After all these years, South Carolina still holds a very special place in our hearts. We spent our first anniversary in Charleston, where the hotel staff called us “Mr. and Mrs. Kelbe” for the first time, so getting married here feels like a full-circle moment in the best way. Charleston is one of our favorite places, and we’re so excited to share it with our family and friends! These past eight years have truly been the happiest of our lives. We’ve learned that home isn’t a place, it’s just being together. We’re really looking forward to this next chapter, our honeymoon in Europe, and everything still to come as we keep building our life side by side. We’re so grateful for all the love and support from everyone celebrating with us!
