We're makin' it legal!

'Twas a dark and dreary day in October of 2020, deep into the pandemic. Bars were closed, and people were afraid of imminent death, so the only option was to download a dating app. After both Josh and Kel encountered much disappointment with Tinder, they both decided, on a stroke of luck, to download Bumble. One day - who knows what kind of mental state each was in - they both tapped on the little yellow hexagon to start judgementally swiping on mildly attractive strangers. Neither of them really knows how many swipes in either direction it took to land on the other's picture, but Josh swiped right because Kel was a hot artist, and Kel swiped right because she appreciated how Josh equated his laugh to a "tickled raccoon." After about ten days of playful and inquisitive texting, including a moment where Josh learned that Kel would give it to young Danny Devito, their first date was at a cafe, and it was cold as sh*t. They tried to sit outside for a while so they wouldn't have to wear masks, but they finally gave in and moved inside, where they became over-caffeinated as they pulled their masks down to sip their fresh hot coffees. They each wore big leather boots and leather jackets. Kel sported a tasteful black mask, while Josh kept it light with a friendly kitten pattern on his. They talked and entertained each other for at least three hours. After that, they hugged it out and parted ways (Josh in his silver Toyota, Kel in her blue Subaru). Later on, Kel ordered Chinese food to eat alone in her studio apartment - Josh does not remember what he did that night. About a week later, they went on a walk in the UW-Arboretum, where they made steady eye contact with a doe in a stream who mysteriously stopped in front of them for a really long time. Later that night, they watched American Horror Story (The Cult) over the phone because they were still afraid they'd catch the 'rona going to each other's apartments. Eventually, Josh made the move and asked Kel over for dinner, where they watched House of 1000 Corpses, Evil Dead, and Betty Boop cartoons on YouTube - the rest is history. Josh and Kel have been in love for over three years and live in sin with their cat, Charlotte, on the near-West Side of Madison, WI. They cannot imagine their lives without each other.
