Garden of the Gods
Our very own "mini Sedona" right in town. Take a drive through the beautiful rock features or take a casual hike through. The visitor center is also fun to check out for nature and history, especially if you have kids!
Pikes Peak Cog Railway Station
Take a trip to the top of Pikes Peak (our local "14er") without the hiking. The cog railway takes you on a scenic trip up the mountain and down again. *Sea-level-friends: altitude sickness can happen up here*. Tickets needed in advance
Manitou Incline
Looking for bragging rights and a way to earn your beers at the open bar? Try the Manitou Incline! 1 mile up, 2,768 steps (take Barr trail back down). Not your jam? Highly recommend visiting Manitou. Its an adorable small town/suburb of COS with shops, food, and parks with the river running through. We love visiting the Manitou Brewing Company, they always have fun new beers on tap and fantastic wings!
Labor Day Lift Off
Colorado's largest hot air balloon festival will be going on over Labor Day weekend and its a fun time! They do multiple days of balloons lifting off (you can even buy tickets to ride in one) and Memorial Park turns into a essentially a mini carnival with rides for kids, games, live music, food trucks, and even drone shows.
Ford Amphitheater
For those looking for live music, there are many places that do live music on weekends (piano bar anyone?), or Ford Amphitheater is hosting Brantley Gilbert on Saturday the 5th if thats your jam.
