Steven and I first contacted each other online through the dating website Bumble. The first day we connected Steven asked me to meet him and his friends at a bar in town. It was a Thursday night. "Tonight?" I asked Steven. "There's no time like the present!" he replied. With that I headed over to the bar. We were both a little nervous. Steven thought I was catfishing him and wanted to steal his kidneys to sell on the black market. Lucky for him, I wasn't after his kidneys. Just his heart. <3
Steven told me right off the bat about Savannah. He told me all about her and I saw lots of pictures. I was really excited to meet her, but Steven and I decided it would be best to wait a few months before the big meeting. But after Steven and I had been seeing each other for about a month, we were really attached. I knew how much Savannah meant to him, and how she was a huge part of his life. Steven and I decided that the time was right. I came over to Steven's apartment one evening, and when Steven opened the door, little Vanna was standing between his legs. I had come armed with M&Ms for Savannah, so we hit it off right away. I loved seeing how snuggly and loving Vanna was towards Steven. She looks at her father in the most adoring way! It didn't take long for Savannah to warm up to me. Now she's my little mini me, her voice echoing my every word. She calls me "her" Karen. I'm so happy to be part of Savannah's life. She is such a smart and sweet girl. And lucky to have such a wonderful father!
Steven really went above and beyond. Months leading up to this date, Steven had taken me ring shopping a few times, even having me get my nails done beforehand! Eventually, we settled for a custom made ring. It was really special getting to design the ring together. The ring was supposed to be ready at the beginning of March. However, in the first few days of March I got a phone call from the jeweler telling me the ring wouldn't be ready until March 20th. I was disappointed, but little did I know it was all part of Steven's plan. On March 10th, Steven's mom Sue asked to take Vanna and I to Taltree Arboretum for some bird watching. It was a beautiful Spring day. We started walking a dirt path, following bird signs. But really, there was never any birds. We were walking down the trail, and I look down another path to my left. There, under a huge ballon arch, next to a big sign reading "Will You Marry Me", in a handsome suit, stood my man with a big grin on his face. Steven's whole family was there. My whole family was there. "Come here baby," Steven called me over to him. Steven told me I was his best friend, and that he wanted to spend his life with me. Then, as a true gentleman, he got down on one knee, revealed to me our beautiful custom ring, and popped the question! I didn't say "yes". I said "of course".
