How We Met

Sounds cliche but we met through mutual friends. Shout out to the Lowe's for thinking we would be a great match!! I spent New Year's with Kandace in Munday with a rowdy bunch who gave the Vernon gal a run for her money. Thankfully, I passed the test and later that week Kandace told me that I should talk to a guy named Booe. My first thought was "Boo? What an odd first name. No thanks." But Kandace and Jordan sure were persistent and that next week, I got a friend request from Keith Booe (much better sounding name). The rest was history. We talked everyday, sending novels back and forth of all things life. He was my favorite name to see come across my phone. He finally asked to meet up in person and I jumped at the opportunity. On my way back to Abilene from Vernon, I stopped in the good ole town of Munday, Texas where Keith took me to ACE Hardware store in Knox City to get some drain cleaner. How romantic! We later had dinner with the Lowe's and watched a movie before I headed back to Abilene. Been attached at the hip every since.

The Proposal!

12/06/2019

Keith basically guilt shamed me into working on a Saturday because it was all a part of his master plan. Keith told me he was going to come to Abilene to take Bear, his dog, to get her haircut. Then drive all the way back to Munday and then back to Abilene to spend time with me. Of course I told him that was stupid to be driving back and forth when I could just take Bear on my way to work. Well, he won the argument to "take Bear" while I was at work but really he was putting into place his plan. I got off work and I thought it was odd how he didn't ask me to go to lunch or anything, instead just told me to go home? I walked up to my apartment and there is a note on my door. With a text from Keith saying, "just open it." I knew right then that this was about to be the best day ever, but secretly went on about my day before sticking my foot in my mouth to family and friends. I first went to McAlister's, where we had our first date in Abilene. I ate lunch by myself that he had already bought before hand with a note that read exactly what I would order. I guess you could say he knows me. Next letter lead me to one of my favorite houses in Abilene, where he shared aspirations of building a life and a home with me. Next, he sent me to Beltway Park Church, where we have grown and learned in faith together. The fourth letter told me that he had a massage set up for me because he appreciates and admires my hard work and overall work ethic. Side Note: Imagine how hard it is to relax during a massage when you know that you're getting proposed to in a couple of hours! After my massage, he told me to get ready and he would pick me up for dinner. Little did I know that dinner was with family and friends at Sockdolager Brewing Company where he proposed in front of everyone! How bold! Of course I said yes!
