Site of Date #10 and a Carrboro institution. Groceries, local baked goods, salad and hot food bars, and a coffee shop all in one. Buy a bottle of wine or beer and relax like a local on the front lawn.
After a couple weeks of messaging across continents, Grace returned from Malawi and met Keith here for their first date. A classic Chapel Hill brewery good for burgers, salads, and beer.
Site of Date #36. The best burgers in town - and in the country, according to Trip Advisor ratings.
Date #23 was an awesome tour and tasting at this local distillery. Book in advance (but check groupon.com for a discount first - there's almost always a deal available). Owners are the folks behind Top of the Hill restaurant, a popular Chapel Hill spot across the street from our church.
A huge selection of Mediterranean dishes. Try a smapler platter, a Turkish fatayer, or the Moroccan Chicken Special.
For the Jersey crowd: the only real pizza in town.

Grab a glass of wine, build your own sandwich or salad, and sit on the picturesque deck to enjoy the Carolina blue sky at the site of Date #18.
Date #16 included a stop at this popular froyo spo, known locally as "Yopo."
Date #3 ended with a stroll through these large, beautiful gardens. In Durham but worth the drive from Chapel Hill/Carrboro. Admission is free, though there may be a small charge for parking depending on the time of day. (This is not to be missed. - Keith)
Delicious beer and a laid back, dog-friendly environment make this our favorite place to grab a beer.
Site of Date #4. Keith hates "surprise tapas" (i.e., when you think you're getting a full-sized entree and end up with finger food), so we'll be clear on this: Mateo is a tapas restaurant. That said, this is Grace's favorite restaurant, with delicious Spanish-style small plates and Cheerwine sangria. Reservations recommended.
Set aside your skepticism and enjoy a much-loved Southern combination. Good for brunch, lunch, or dinner. (Keith recommends the "Classy Hen.")
Incredible BBQ in a very casual setting. Consider yourself warned: there are no healthy options.
Accessed through the quaint downtown of Hillsborough, this is lovely place for an easy walk (on a smooth, paved path) along the Eno river.
It's no Southwest Virginia, but it's our favorite place to hike around here.
An iconic spot in Chapel Hill. Swing by if you decide to explore UNC's campus.
A small but lovely arboretum. Swing by if you decide to explore UNC's campus.
