We’re getting married!

Now when we say “love by accident” it definitely was an accident how we became one. We first met back in 2013 at a barbecue hosted by our friend Gerald, at this point it was just a hi and bye for us. Fast forward Keith’s friend Tray approached him and said a lady by the name of Deshon had a crush on him, from there he decided to send her a message on Facebook. “We talked everyday for hours, when i say everyday i mean EVERYDAY!” Deshon shared. Deshon eventually attended one of Keith’s famous game nights where they talked some more and cracked jokes, just enjoying eachothers company. Six months later Keith wrote Tray to thank her, confused she responded “for what” he responded “for telling me that Deshon liked me and things were going good for us.” Lisa shared that this was the “Wrong Deshon” she was talking about another woman with the same name that was interested. The mistake of inboxing the “Wrong Deshon” has truly brought us a love by accident.

Planning, plotting and a host of blessings. Deshon hosted a Father’s Day Barbecue where Keith asked Deshon’s sons and son-in-law (Jaquan, Wayne, Michael, Chris, Kevin and Ty) how would they feel if Keith decided to propose to Deshon, they were all for it. The final blessing came from Deshon’s daughter Janay who gave Keith the ok. Keith’s friend Pinky lent him a hand with picking out the ring and the song he wanted to play when he would ask for her hand in marriage. Next was picking a day to pop the big question. After cancelling out multiple days Keith decided on August 26th 2017. Deshon would be hosting a memorial barbecue for her brother Anthony that day, where all of her family would be present to witness this lovely moment. “The Big Day” In true barbecue fashion Deshon was on the grill cooking, a moment of reconnecting with her son Michael and reflecting on her brother Anthony led to her breaking down crying. Keith grabbed Deshon from behind whispering in ear, while quietly signaling everyone to take their position. With signs provided by Keith’s friend Corey that read “Will you marry me” held by Deshon’s children and grandson as Case’s “Happily Ever After” serenaded the background, she turned around and Keith took to one knee. Deshon’s tears turned to smiles as she replied “Yes”
