Courtney & Keith met during August of their sophomore year of college at a mutual friend's house. There was a small get together going on and as Courtney was sitting next to the fireplace, Keith came and sat down next to her. While everyone else was mingling, they spent hours talking like they had known each other their entire lives. The rest is history!
Keith told Courtney he had planned a surprise roadtrip for their anniversary on September 1st. A day before they were supposed to leave Keith said he wanted to take Courtney to dinner to celebrate 6 years together. Courtney met Keith at his house - where he had a present waiting for her. When Courtney opened the gift, it was an English to Italian translation book. Keith told Courtney they were going to Italy and would be leaving in two days. A few days later they got on a plane to Rome and spent the entire next day exploring. Day 2 of their trip they went to the Amalfi Coast and had the greatest day exploring Positano. Keith told Courtney they had an activity and then dinner plans and Courtney honestly did not think much of it because Keith had something planned every 30 minutes of their trip so far. Since Courtney did not know what they were doing, she asked him to pick out her outfit for the night. She always jokes that of course, Keith picked the red dress she wore when they got engaged (he is obsessed with Texas Tech, whose color is red). They walked down to the beach where Courtney was informed they would be going on a group sunset cruise. The ocean is Courtney's absolute favorite place in the entire world and she was so excited. Little did she know this was actually a private cruise Keith had arranged and everyone, down to the people who checked them in on the dock, were all in on the surprise and acting like they were tourists. They had been on the boat for around 15 minutes and the captain said if they wanted to get pictures with Positano in the background they had to do it soon before the sun was setting. Courtney got up and was all ready to take pictures and before she knew it Keith was on one knee and the other people on their "group cruise" were snapping pictures of them - Keith had hired them to photograph the entire moment. They cruised around the Tyrrhenian Sea watching the sunset, drank Italian prosecco and had the absolute time of their lives!
