Who would have thought that a simple snap could bring about an amazing relationship that would lead us to the altar? We sure didn't. Though we had always seen each other at church, neither one of us could have imagined the incredible adventure that God had planned out for us. From the very first date, we both knew that we had found something absolutely magical. What started as late night discussions over the merit of pineapple on pizza (Alyssa is very passionate!) bloomed into a love that will last a lifetime!

March 9th, 2019 was a day of anticipation. For her, it was to be a surprise date night: a beautiful dress, fancy food, and a night of fun and romance. But for him, it was a day he had run through in his head "over and over again". His day consisted of meticulous planning, coded text messages, and a surprise she will remember for the rest of her life. They spent the morning hanging out at different stores, shopping for the perfect outfits for their magical evening (though she had no idea how magical it was going to be!). When the time came, they stopped by Keith's house to relax before dinner. When Alyssa opened the door, and to her surprise, she was greeted by one of her favorite songs "Over and Over Again" by Nathan Sykes! She proceeded to the living room and walked side by side with Keith down an aisle of rose petals, stopping at the fireplace. The room was covered in memories and mementos of their wonderful time together, and the only light was from the glow of the fire and the floating candles about the room. A kneel, a speech, and a ring later, the newly engaged couple spent the rest of the evening sharing their joy with their family and close friends. Finally, they snuggled up on the couch and watched the new bride-to-be's favorite reality TV show: The Bachelor. Though the day was along and the emotions were high, March 9th, 2019 was a day that neither on of them will ever forget.

After they finish their honeymoon in Kissimmee Florida, the newly minted Mattix's will return to Henderson, Tennessee to finish up their degrees at FHU, and then the sky's the limit! "We plan to get 3 corgi puppies and turn them into Internet sensations" - Alyssa
